In Greek and Roman mythology, goddesses were every bit as powerful as their male counterparts. They were also incredibly attractive. Many of them used their beauty and cunning to seduce mortal men and even other gods. In this article we are going to discuss goddess Halloween costumes.

Since most people don’t know the goddesses by name, most costumes are fairly generic. That is, they include clothing and accessories that are common to most of the Greek, Roman and Egyptian goddesses.

So, what do we know about the goddesses? For one thing, we know that they were well-dressed and very sexy. One of the most basic Greek or Athenian goddess costumes we have reviewed was a flowing white empire-waist gown. If you have never heard of one, an empire-waist gown has a high waist that gathers just under the bust. The dress also includes white veils attached to the back and a thigh-high slit near the left leg.

As you might expect, accessories are a useful compliment to any goddess costume, otherwise people might mistake you for a regular old diva. Such things as a gold headpiece and matching gold armbands will let people know that you are royalty.

Then there is the classic Athenian goddess wig. Because most goddesses wore their hair in the same style, this accessory will help identify you as a resident of Mount Olympus. The wig is a distinctive brown with a tight halo of curls on top and two long spirals descending on each side to frame the face.

If you have read the Greek and Roman myths, they you are undoubtedly aware that the younger goddesses tended to be a bit more impetuous than the older ones. They took more risks and made more questionable decisions. This is particularly true when it came to their dress. Some of the younger goddesses like Aphrodite are often described as wearing extremely revealing clothing. In the next section we will discuss a sexy goddess dress.

As we mentioned, all of the goddesses were attractive. But some of them, especially the younger ones, used their beauty and sexiness to get what they wanted. This often included revealing clothing. Of course, a goddess would never dress like a common tramp. She was far too dignified to sink to that level.

The sexy décolleté gown that we reviewed featured a white halter top with slit sides, gold embroidery and an auriferous headband. The costume hardly requires any compliments. But if you want to go all out and have the mortals falling at your feet, it is best to add a few accessories.

The goddess wig that we mentioned earlier and the gold armbands fit nicely with this outfit. Then there are the gold goddess sandals. These sandals have straps that crisscross in x-patterns up the leg to just below the knee. The costume is extremely comfortable and affordable.
